Colorspreads! I love 'em. I figure most fans love 'em and that, although it's hard to choose, I'm sure people prefer some to others. I know I do. And I feel like sharing. So here are some of my favorite Colorspreads, broken down largely by time frame.

My all-time favorite colorspread is this one:

I don't really have a good reason, just, it's so visually striking to me somehow. I actually have a poster-size version of this framed and hanging on the wall.

Of recent colorspreads, I like all of them as they've been very whimsical, but these two are really great. The first one, and the most recent one, is rather self-evident.

And this one just...feels so right somehow. It's also the current Sept/Oct picture for my 2010 calendar.

As for earlier works, I've always felt this one captured One Piece perfectly, plus it's just a really fun image.

This one, of the original four boys, is also just totally cute and fun.

Finally, I have always really liked Oda's original Colorspread. It's just so...pirate-y and fun.

What Colorspreads are your favorites?

Hehe, a few years ago when I worked at Staples and we started offering custom calendars I made a One Piece color spread calendar too for myself and I just kept it up after the year was over, because it's all so pretty *__*

I don't know if I have a favorite but we do own Color Walks 1-3 and I just love going back through them. They're all so lovely. I like the ones better that are more whimsical nakama-ness and not necessarily the ones with the big animals. Which is why I can say that the most recent color spread with the Strawhat logo written on all of them is very sweet, but also a little sad (not pathetic sad, genuinely emotionally sad), because I think it shows a little Luffy's intense desire to keep his nakama safe, and together, and it reminds me of how heartbroken I was watching his reaction after Kuma sent them all away.

I dunno if I have a favourite one. I LOVE The RoChoNa one cus of obvious reasons (and it looks like they tired him out. Wicked girls.)

I also liked the Ice Cream and Swimming ones. And that Robin reading book one is soooo cute also.

Oh! And the one where they are driving cars XD And the bird one.

Damn I love most of them so much XD

I also love how Robin and Nami's breasts look so much better in colour.

Favourite colour spreads? Well, the ones you list are all really good. The mini-train has such a lovely composition and warm, vivid colours; the crew-love of the marker-Jolly Roger spread is great, esp. since Usopp's the artist (but I have to confess I find Nami's pose juuuust a little too obviously fanservicey, though that hasn't stopped me from using it as my current computer wallpaper). But the one with Robin reading the bedtime-story is just so super-lovely I can hardly stand it. ♥♥♥

Among many other older spreads I am also very fond of this one where they're all painting, for the fun and threatening paint spill; this winter-themed one because it feels so everyday-ish despite the animal guests; this swamp one because how can i resist a meditating lotus-Luffy?; this one for its elegant, storybook, old-Europe/gangster AU feel, the one with the great tree* which I think is the first one with Brook (they're walking on air! and Usopp has a baseball cap!), this one for daring perspective, the sketching of giant birds from life, and Robin's half-melancholy smile, The Winner Takes It All for its sense of wondrous and adventure and because it has Luffy and Usopp having fun together even though it was first posted in the midst of Water 7/Enies Lobby; on a similar note, the symbolism of Walk More Slowly for the chapter 439.

(Oh, and also this one for pretty patterns, groovy armour, Robin's elegant beauty (which looks almost otherworldly in this one pic), and Usopp's fierce look. ^_^)

Among other newer spreads than the ones you've already posted, I totally adore the First Meeting spread.

...I have issues with picking favourites, clearly. Sorry.

* These are starting to sound like old Friends episodes.

Nah, I hadn't read your post - I decided yesterday that I wouldn't look at the f-list until after I'd gotten to read the new chapter. I have read chapter 598 now, but not yet read your post.

Ghkk. The rampant Nami-hatred over at AP Forums is infuriating. I hate how so many of those posters seem to see Nami as nothing but a weakling who just brings sucky fanservice to the table, rather than finding her an awesome and (in my eyes) quite unique character who may - or may not
- be belittled by Oda's ever-increasing tendency to use her for eye-candy and constantly skimpify her clothing. Of course, it doesn't help that many vocal Nami fans who tend to show up at AP Forums often do sound as if they mostly like her for her body... -_-

...I meant Walk More Slowly (correct link now).

(yes, you got me anyway; I'm just being anal. ;))
