dethorats | A hodge-podge of things

In an attempt to overcome a horrible writing rut, I played around with a Random Word Generator for about forty minutes this morning and wrote 10 quickies.

Six One Piece, Three Metalocalypse, and One FairyTail of various ratings but all very quick and short.

Crass

“You’re fucking my lieutenant?!”

“Don’t be so crass, Smoker-kun. Though Hina is indeed doing just that. Thoroughly and regularly.”

Ear pressed against the door, Tashigi flushed a bright red and wished again that she had been brave enough to tell him she needed a day off herself.

Baffles

It baffles him, as he watches Sanji flutter and flirt and slave and serve and fail utterly. Why did the stupid cook try so hard when he never succeeded? But then he thinks of all the fights and quarrels and arguments and shirts he’s clenched in his fist as he yells in the blonde’s face and remembers he still hasn’t gotten any. Maybe the shitty chef isn’t the only idiot on board.

Racks

Chopper’s big eyes get even wider as he stares at the shelves of books and the cabinets full of carefully labeled vials. It’s a lot of work for a young reindeer-man and he swallows audibly. Doctorine steps aside and reveals the racks of weapons that line the other wall. Her new pupil gets the message and instantly goes and pulls the first book off the shelf.

Communists

“Dildoes communists,” Skwisgaar muttered, crossing his arms over his guitar and glaring at Ofdensen as if the manager hadn’t tried his best to resolve the situation. “Don’ts dey know dats ladies is just hittings dere prime when dey is gmilfs?”

Opportunity

There’s a spider spinning a web in the ceiling corner of Merry’s galley. Usopp watches it with a thoughtful eye, torn between delight and pity. The poor thing will be finished with its web by the time Sanji notices but the chance to play rescuer is too good of an opportunity for the sniper to pass up.

Staggered

After a night in town, Ben wasn’t surprised to catch sight of the captain’s lurching gait. But when Shanks staggered up the gangplank with his arm pressed to his side, the first mate saw the glisten of dark blood in the moonlight and hurried down from the crow’s nest. The teasing he’d planned to give was forgotten as he shouted for Doc and ran forward to catch the redhead just before Shanks collapsed on the deck of his ship.

Split

Charles looked at the collection of black eyes, split lips, bloody noses, torn dreadlocks, and missing teeth and sighed. Really, being the manager of the biggest band in the world was more like being housemother to a collection of juvenile delinquents than anyone would ever believe.

Entire

Somehow with Natsu along, their jobs never go quite as easily as they should. Lucy sighs and rings out her shirt, glaring at Happy when he dares to shake out his wings and gets more water on her. And honestly, did Aquarius HAVE to dump the entire lake on them just because Natsu had been a little bit seasick over the side of the boat earlier?

Publicly

Publicly, Nathan Explosion was the foremost expert on all things metal on the planet. He was also considered the most brutal man on Earth. It never failed to privately amuse Charles to watch Nathan play with kittens or delicately sip espresso from tiny cups. And if the press knew just how much the singer agonized over his image…well, that’s what Charles was for after all, to make sure Nathan remained at the pinnacle of metal brutality.

Swallowed

“Luffy! Spit it out! You spit that out right now!” Nami’s fingers closed over Luffy’s throat and squeezed as she shook him, as if she could somehow get back the ruby the captain had swallowed along with his pork chop. “Shishishi. Sorry, Nami,” Luffy laughed apologetically. “You’re just going to have to wait until tomorrow.” The lumps the navigator left on the captain’s head were still there the next morning and nothing more was said about the ruby.
