Re: I blame this on you...

There was all of a split second of jealousy, a small petty feeling that was swept away as Luffy continued to watch, a hand sneaking down his shorts unconsciously to rub at his aching flesh. It was just good to see his nakama so happy, to listen to Usopp giving himself up to sensation and to see Zoro interacting, living fully in this moment instead of directing his attention towards the future. It hadn't occurred to him to leave but neither did Luffy think to announce his presence. To interrupt, to break whatever spell was being woven with touch and tongue and tone, would have been a crime and he stayed silent, eyes darting between Usopp's face and the back of Zoro's bobbing head.

It wasn't much longer before Usopp began to arch, back bowing and leaving the floor and Luffy's hand tightened, stroked faster in anticipation. There was a hitched breath, a second one that stuttered, and then Usopp let out the loudest sound yet, one that almost sounded like a sob except that there were no tears and only an expression of complete bliss on his face when Luffy finally caught his own breath and managed to look, the front of his shorts newly damp and clinging to his skin. Zoro moved then, a deep and distinctly self-satisfied (Luffy knew because he'd heard it before, usually when his swordsman had managed to steal booze out from under Sanji's nose or when he'd successfully hidden from Nami and her chore list) chuckle leaving him as he crawled up Usopp's torso, draping himself over the sniper's body and putting an abrupt end to Usopp's pants for air with his lips.

Somehow this felt even more intimate to Luffy, more private than what he'd just watched, and it was only at that moment that he realized that maybe he should announce his presence. Except that they both looked pretty happy and rather involved with kissing and his shorts were sticky and Zoro was probably going to want a nap after that. Luffy had backed away silently, darted off to clean up and try and find a spare pair of shorts, and by then it was time for lunch and afterwards there had been music from Brook and he'd been distracted. But the knowledge, the sight that had been burned into his brain, was still there at the back of his brain.

He had thought about saying something a couple of times, had actually made plans to bring it up when they arrived at Sabaody, thoughts of taking his sniper and swordsman to the amusement park and seeing if they'd want to play with him too - because he definitely wanted to be with them - hovering somewhere beneath excitement and adventure and his growing concern for Ace. And then of course they'd all been separated.

(Still at work...so more to follow later...)
