Another Hurt/Comfort Drabble
Title: Nothing at present

Word Count: 300
The packed snow crunched under Zoro’s boots as he made his way across the frozen courtyard. Luffy had come bounding out of one of the hulking castle’s windows as soon as he had spotted them on the plateau. Vivi had already vanished inside in search of Nami and Luffy was listening with amazement to Usopp describing his adventures since the crew had split up. The captain was still wearing his shorts and sandals, the coat on his back - not the one he’d first had - was missing both sleeves. Green brows knit as still-frozen fingers and toes curled inward. Even rubber was vulnerable to cold. As Zoro approached, Usopp took off in search of warmth, shouting back to Luffy that even he didn’t tell whoppers about reindeer or blue doctors or something. Luffy had just laughed then turned to face the swordsman.
“Hey.”
“Hey.”
And suddenly Luffy wasn’t smiling.
“Sanji got hurt ‘cause of me…maybe Nami too.”
The words came out rushed and quiet, thin arms wrapping around a body that should have been shivering. As the story came out, all giant rabbits and avalanches and self-recrimination, Zoro listened and tried to ignore the bluish tinge to his captain’s lips. Finally Luffy finished, eyes sparkling just a little at the mention of a talking reindeer doctor who he wanted for their new nakama. The half-healed wounds around his ankles were aching by then, the chill seeping past stolen layers of boots and socks. Zoro shook his head, clearing it of guilty remembrances of misspent time, and fixed Luffy with a stern look.
“Will they both be ok?”
At the hesitant nod he grabbed one frigid hand and briskly started chafing it between his own mittened ones, in the process towing Luffy towards the castle.
“Then you did good Captain.”
