One Piece Fangirling

So, 347 is interesting. Poor Paulie...the betrayal seemed to hit him pretty hard. Most important is the complete badassness of Rob Lucci. I love him more and more with every issue. Considering I liked him best of Galley La from his first appearance...It's total <3! time now. Dude, he totally laid the smack down on Luffy. Usually I hate the arc villain(s) so much that I'm ready for Luffy to kick their asses. This time, though, I really love Rob Lucci and I kinda want to seem him be uber cool w/his martial arts. It's like Fist of the North Star without all the explosive blood action. And Robin! Damn! Anything to achieve her dream, huh?

Zoro has really shown himself to be the first mate throughout Water 7. Him asking Luffy whether that's allowed is quite telling. Of course Luffy says no. All I can say is, Zoro's suspicians/paranoia was totally justified. It doesn't mean Robin is bad, just that her goal (which we still don't completely understand) drives her to do just about anything. Luffy accepted her because of what happened with Crocodile. Usopp and Chopper were converted by the humor, Nami by greed, and Sanji because she's a hot chick. Zoro, though, wanted to understand her motivations. And they haven't found them out yet. So he was right! Back to the whole first mate thing...it really reminds me of the Shanks and Ben interaction in chapter 234 regarding their proposed next action (whatever that may be). Ben mentions that it'll tick off the government and Shanks says so what. Ben's just fulfilling his duty, but he'll follow Shanks regardless. It's the same dynamic between Zoro and Luffy, even more now. The whole Water 7 thing really seems to be about growth in terms of Luffy and dealing with complex, more mature issues. He's growing as a captain, and Zoro as first mate is adjusting to that change. Considering that the Grand Line will only get worse, it could be a positive change reflecting the difficulties ahead.

I wonder if Robin has more cool CP9 powers, as well as the rest? I'm sure Oda will cut to Sanji/Usopp next chapter, just because the tensions in this were so high...he's a bastard like that. And what is it with him and bombs? I must say, my fave part was when Lucci offered to stamp on Iceburg's head to prove to Paulie that they were now enemies. Damn is Lucci kickass. I hope it'll turn out like Aokiji and CP9 gets away to fight another day...perhaps taking Robin with them only to reconcile at a later date. That would be neat. Also, where's this Aqua Laguna? So much tension!!!!!

Also, movie 6 trailer looks pretty good. Sanji gets more of a spotlight, since Zoro did last time. And it looks like Luffy has a much better fight than he did in movie 5. My biggest question? Why the hell is Usopp wearing a Rasta hat?
